(AFW – Sierra Leone) – Spelling Bee Excellence at St Augustine Primary School Dzarwak.

(Freetown – Sierra Leone)- On 22nd November 2019, students of St Augustine primary school at Dzarwak engaged in a spelling Bee.

The participating students performed so well that for more than 20 minutes it was difficult to choose the best from the finalist.

We want to appreciate the staff and management of St Augustine primary school at Dzarwak for the good work they are doing in shaping the lives of the next generation.

(AFW- Ghana) – Preparation Event for Christ the King Celebrations’.

(Tatale- Ghana) – Our community in Tatale the Northern part of Ghana had activities in preparation for Christ the King celebration.


The event with theme “Gaudate et Exsultate on Holiness” had parishioners participating in health talks since a healthy body can serve God better.


There was Holy mass celebrated by Fr Nicodemus SDB.

(AFW-NIGERIA): Rectors and Economers Meeting

(IJU-LAGOS): The meeting for Rectors and Economers (Nigerian Delegation) runs from November 14-16 with representatives from eight (8) Salesian communities in the Nigerian Delegation all present.

The Provincial Fr Michael Karikunnel, SDB and his councilors are meeting with the delegates to plan for the year ahead after an evaluation of the past year.
Each rector from the communities gave a presentation at the meet.
We hope to come up with good projects and programs to lift more young people in the coming year.

(AFW – Ghana) – Graduates from Don Bosco Solar Training get Interviewed by Potential Employer at the WACEE Conference and Exhibition in Accra.

The Solar Project in Don Bosco Technical Ashaiman is training students who are shaping the future of renewable energy in Ghana and Africa.


Our graduates at the WACEE conference were privileged to be interviewed by different solar companies for employment.


Don Bosco is planning to train over 2000 solar engineers over a space of 3 years.
Scholarships are available for students from vulnerable backgrounds.

(AFW – Nigeria) – Workshop for staff and Students, JOBITECH, Ondo

(Ondo- Nigeria) – Our training for young people is geared towards their getting skills for employment.

Don Bosco Anglophone West Africa organized a workshop for students and staff of Jobitech, Ondo.

It was facilitated by the PDO office in conjunction with Job Service Office (JSO) and some SME’s in Nigeria.

The training workshop was on time management, communication skills, and health and safety.

Health and Safety at the workplace was one seminar which the students really enjoyed.

The value of Communications in this competitive world is a must for every student. Our students at Jobitech were given some Intrapersonal, Interpersonal and Communication Skills were taught through group activities and talks to beef up their future career projections.

A participant learnt the importance of self-confidence in communication.

Positive thoughts, high self-esteem, discipline, proper analysis, better communication is what another participant got from the workshop.

It was obvious to all that changing their words will change their lives.

The closing remarks were given by Fr John Paul Uchendu.

(AFW- Nigeria) – Job Service Office’s Life Skills Training in Lagos

(Lagos – Nigeria) – The Provincial Development Organism of Anglophone West Africa Province organized life skills program for our centers in AFW province in partnership with VIS and CEI Nigeria. They were engaged in practical skills to face daily life challenges.

Day 1: Self Discovery, Work Satisfaction and Family Values

Participants went through the journey of self-discovery, work satisfaction and family values. A totally formed individual can contribute tremendously to the development.

 

After the first day training the participants were eager to have more of the training which is life transforming.

There is a lot taken which will help in the lifting of more young people all over our Province.

Day 2: Developing Trusting Relationships

As an organization trust leads to progress. The second day life skill was towards developing interpersonal skills to build trust in relationships.

Day 3: Self-awareness, Virtue and Mercy and Second Chance.

There is a morning circle for reflection and then to activities that projects one to excellence.

(AFW – Ghana) – Opening Ceremony for the BINA Don Bosco Tech Project.

(Ashiaman – Ghana) – For some months Don Bosco Technical Ashiaman has been in partnership with BINA to skill Ghanaian youth.

 

The project which is a 3 years contract plans to train Ghanaian in Catering, Cosmetology, Automobile, Computer Technology, Welding , Solar and Electronic Technology.

At the opening ceremony on Monday 4th November 2019 the students were encouraged to their training serious to have employable and entrepreneurial skills.

We wish the student a success in their training as we thank the BINA staff and Don Bosco Technical Ashiaman staff for bringing hope to many young people.

 

(AFW – Ghana) – Miva Polska Donated Brand New Cars to Train Young People.

(Ashaiman – Ghana) – Excellent Driving skill is a necessity for every young person.

 

Don Bosco has been training many young people in driving in their school at Ashaiman. These skills have given employment and a livelihood to many.

Our school in Ashaiman is privilege to get 2 cars donated to the center by Miva Polska.
