(Agbobloshie- Ghana) -Don Bosco Anglophone West Africa Province, Don Bosco Child Protection Center, Civil Society Organisations and The Gender, Children and Social Protection Ministry marked this years blue day with a community sensitization program.
The program with the theme “Together, We End Human Trafficking Now” brought most stakeholders to work towards ending human trafficking.
As an organisation with the welfare of young vulnerable girls in mind we have seen the woeful trend of how girls are being trafficked more than their male counterparts.
Traffickers come with various luring promises of jobs such as housekeeping, cleaning etc to be exposed to abusive conditions at their destination
Projects like Zongo Cuisine Promo which assist those cooking to expand their business and the Lifeline Projects help give skills to young vulnerable girls to prevent trafficking.
The Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection called on parents to educate their children especially the girl child. She said travelling outside through a person promising employment might end in your even losing your life.
The program ended with participants getting refreshed.
